Traditionally child development has been divided into five areas—social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language. Understanding how children grow and develop provides the basis for planning our programs and guiding children’s learning. Our programs are displayed on the Parent Information boards in our foyer. They are regularly updated and we encourage you to take a look at them from time to time.
We recognise that children mature at different rates and have preferred styles of learning; therefore the progress of each child is monitored closely. We look at the whole child (their physical, cognitive, social, emotional and language skills) and then plan an environment, experiences and interactions which will further develop their strengths as well as address their areas of need.
Our newly introduced Occupational Therapist screening service supports our staff in identifying early any potential areas of difficulty for our children. Staff are always available to make a time for a chat if you would like to know how your child is developing.
